My hope is for anyone who reads this will be inspired how great God is✝️😎

Psalm 42:1-4 NLT
[1] As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. [2] I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him? [3] Day and night I have only tears for food, while my enemies continually taunt me, saying, “Where is this God of yours?” [4] My heart is breaking as I remember how it used to be: I walked among the crowds of worshipers, leading a great procession to the house of God, singing for joy and giving thanks amid the sound of a great celebration!

Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen, and I will tell you where to get food that is good for the soul!
Isaiah 55:2 NIV

There is food, and there is junk food. There is food that builds the bones and muscles, and there is food that clogs the arteries. There is food that provides energy, and there is food that adds fat. In short, there is good food and bad food. Why would people spend good money on bad food? Presumably they like the flavor and discount the consequences.

God asked a similar question twenty-seven hundred years ago about how his people were feeding their soul. They seem to have been more interested in tickling their palate than in eating a healthy spiritual diet.

So, God asked them, “Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen, and I will tell you where to get food that is good for the soul!” (55:2).

But where specifically is this “food that is good for the soul” to be found? In the word of God! Where God’s word is taken seriously—where God’s people turn to it constantly, hungrily feed on it, inwardly digest it, and allow it to generate its life-transforming energy in their lives—it will prosper, and so will they (55:10-13). When we come to the Lord eagerly, unreservedly, expectantly, repentantly, and trustingly, we can partake of the rich food of his word. The food is not cheap—it is free! Someone else paid for it. Access to God and his provision has been provided and paid for, and the valued benefits are available to all—free of charge!
Isaiah 55:10-13 NLT
[10] “The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. [11] It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. [12] You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands! [13] Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow. Where nettles grew, myrtles will sprout up. These events will bring great honor to the LORD’s name; they will be an everlasting sign of his power and love.”

The delicious menu includes an everlasting covenant, mercies, and unfailing love (55:3), the promise of a fruitful life (55:10-12), and a “glorious” experience (55:5). But to benefit from this rich fare, we must abstain from the junk food of wrong thinking, from “the very thought of doing wrong” (55:7). It is in the womb of the thoughts that sin is conceived. So, “Let the people turn from their wicked deeds” (55:7). We must embrace a new regimen of turning to the Lord and discovering his thoughts and desires. The change in diet will quickly generate fresh nourishment, new energy, and vitality.

When the arteries of the soul are clogged through a bad spiritual diet, cardiac arrest of the spirit happens. Instead of beating regularly and powerfully with love for God, the heart becomes cold and heavy, the flow of energy becomes lethargic, and spiritual activity stops. There’s a better way, through a healthy diet of divinely provided “food that is good for the soul.” So think clearly, and eat wisely.

I have lost 30 pounds in the last 18 months. I didn’t go on a diet, I changed my eating and life style. I started to feel better in my confidence, energy. My knees and back started hurting less. I cancelled my knee replacement surgery. As I was working on my physical health, I realized how spiritually unhealthy I’d become through the discipling of Godly men confronting me on my sins in my heart. I saw the need for me to stop drinking alcohol altogether because it became an idol. I also saw my doctor and got a plan to stop taking a pain med prescription that wasn’t helping me spiritually. As I lost weight, I realized with God I could manage the pain in my knees without taking these meds.
My mind started become clearer as time went on. God was discipling me and helping me see how I’d drifted from Him and became deceived. I started praying much more and on my knees everyday starting about 1 year ago. I realized how weak and shallow I was with God. Prayer is more powerful then we understand. Pray on your knees everyday and see how that humble physical disposition moves you to humility as you start speaking to God. Don’t let your emotions dictate your prayer life. Pray no matter how you feel.
Ephesians 3:14-16 NLT
[14] When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, [15] the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. [16] I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.

Hebrews 12:7-9,11-13 NLT
[7] As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? [8] If God doesn’t discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children at all. [9] Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn’t we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever? [11] No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening-it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. [12] So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. [13] Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.

Can you see where God has disciplined you? If not, you may of missed the valuable lesson you needed learn. Otherwise, God will discipline you again until you learn what He is teaching you. He loves you too much not to disciple until you see the sin in your life. “Without holiness no one will see God” Hebrews 12:14-15
God’s discipline using leadership and others in my life saved me spiritually. The key for me was to get my eyes off of everyone and everything and “fix my eyes on Jesus”. Hebrews 12-1-2

1 Timothy 4:8,15-16 NLT
[8] “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” [15] Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress. [16] Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.

My consistent physical workouts each week remind me of my greater need for consistent spiritual workouts. They both teach “self denial” “and no pain no gain”. They teach me “self control” to keep my body, a “temple for God” to be in shape and useful to God at my full potential. I pray for self control with my eating everyday and discipline to not negotiate with my emotions when tempt me to make excuses not to go to the gym or read my Bible and pray. As I get older, I must strive to be the best example to others for God.

Pray with me:
Dear Father in Heaven, help each of us who pray to you with a humble heart to become like soft clay you can mold so we can change and surrender our will to be your will. Please help us to trust you with our very lives, and lean not on our understanding. Thx for your grace and patience with us in this process.
I pray all these things in Jesus name, AMEN.

I hope this inspires you to be a better man or woman for God as it has helped me. 🙏🏻🙏🏽🙏🏿✝️💪🏿💪🏻
